Spotlight and Links
Searching tasks from Spotlight, and every kando:// link that opens a task, list, project, or the new-task screen.
Spotlight
Kan Do indexes every task, project, and column with its title, notes, and tags. Search in Spotlight on iPhone, iPad, or Mac, and Kan Do results appear alongside everything else. Tapping a result opens that task or project in the app.
The same index lets Siri find things by name on iOS 27 and macOS 27.
Search inside the app is on the sidebar's bottom bar (the magnifying glass) on iPhone and iPad, and covers titles, notes, and tags.
Task links
Every task has a link. Copy Link in the card's context menu, or the Get Task Link action in Shortcuts, gives you:

Paste it anywhere: a note in another task, a calendar event, a message to yourself, a document. Opening it on any device with Kan Do jumps straight to the task, in the existing window on the Mac.

The IDs for projects, columns, and smart lists aren't shown in the app, but the widget, Shortcuts, and the AI connector use these links internally, and a connected assistant can tell you a column's ID if you ask.
Where links are useful
- Shortcuts: Open URL with
kando://list/todaymakes a one-tap Today button anywhere Shortcuts can run. - Launchers and keyboards: any app that can open a URL can open a Kan Do list.
- Cross-references: paste a task link into another task's note to connect related work.
- Email: a Mail message dragged into a note on the Mac gets its own link back to the message, the other direction.
Make a Shortcut with a single Open URL action pointing at kando://new, add it to the Action Button or Control Center, and you've got a capture key.
