Release Notes

#Reminders

• Two new snooze buttons on task reminders: Snooze 1 Hour and Snooze Until Tonight (6 PM). Both bring the same reminder back later and leave the task alone, so a repeating task keeps its schedule (tester request: moving the reminder to tomorrow or a custom date broke the recurring rule). Snooze Until Tomorrow still moves the due date, so use the new buttons for repeating tasks
• New Widget Text Size slider in Settings ▸ Typography (80% to 160%), for bigger widget text without changing the rest of the phone (tester request). It stacks with the system text size below
• Widget text now follows your iPhone's text size setting (Settings ▸ Accessibility ▸ Display & Text Size), including the accessibility sizes, and task rows are a touch larger to match Reminders (tester report: the size setting did nothing). Each widget shows as many rows as your text size allows

#Notes

• Default Text Style now takes effect right away: changing it in Settings ▸ Typography while a note is open no longer leaves that note typing in the old style (tester report)
• Copy a task link without opening it: right-click on Mac, or press and hold on iPhone and iPad, any link in the chain-icon popover or the Links rows for Copy Link, Open, and Edit (tester request)

#Share Sheet

• Long shared text goes into the note in full, and the title gets its opening words with an ellipsis, so a shared paragraph is no longer crammed into one line (tester suggestion). Short single-line text still becomes the title

#Opening Your Data

• A lock file carried over by a backup restore or a new-phone transfer could leave Kan Do stuck on "Opening Your Data" with "system error 5" until the app was reinstalled. Kan Do now repairs that file itself, keeps it out of backups, and reports the real error if opening ever fails again

#iPhone Duo

• Kan Do is ready for iPhone Duo: the closed screen gets its own layout with the controls in the side rail, and the open screen gets the iPad layout with the sidebar and two full board columns
• The board's view toggle, Select, Archive, and Info are separate bar items now, so they move into the side rail instead of staying pinned in the top bar
• New Task is now the first button in the board's toolbar on every platform, replacing the floating + circle that covered the columns. The List / Kanban toggle moved into the Project Settings menu (renamed from Project Info) next to Reorder Columns
• Column Width, the drawing tool, reopening a drawing, full-screen notes, and the taller keyboard panel now follow the screen width instead of the device type, so an open iPhone Duo gets the full iPad experience
• With a task open beside the board, the bar keeps the board's name instead of switching to "Details"

#AI Assistants (MCP)

• Settings ▸ AI Assistants (MCP) now explains that the helper works with any assistant that supports MCP (Claude, ChatGPT and Codex, Cursor, and others) and shows ChatGPT/Codex setup alongside Claude (tester feedback)
• New connector tools: search tasks by title, tag, project, column, or note text; edit spaces, projects, and columns; delete a column. A column that still holds tasks is refused unless its tasks are archived first (tester feedback)

#Mac (macOS 27)

• Dragging a card on the board works from the moment the app opens. On macOS 27 the drop area for column reordering sat on top of the columns at launch and swallowed every card drag until a task was opened (tester reports from macOS 27 and the 27.2 beta). Column reordering now uses the columns themselves and the Add Column button as targets
• Dragging a column by its title works again on a board that has an archived column; the reorder used to be refused silently

#Notes editor (tester batch)

• Dragging an image or file into a note drops it where the pointer is: the cursor follows the drag, so you can see where the card will land (it used to land wherever the cursor last was)
• No more overlapping lines after dropping a tall image on the Mac; the text below re-lays out right away instead of after a scroll
• Cut, copy, and paste work on attachment cards on the Mac (⌘X / ⌘C / ⌘V). Pasting a copy of a card gives it its own stored file
• Backspace at the start of a bullet, numbered, or checklist line joins it to the line above without gluing the marker into the text, and the list below renumbers
• Turning a bullet or numbered line into a checklist or quote replaces the bullet instead of stacking the two, and the bullet button on a checklist line replaces the box

#Board and lists (tester batch)

• Clicking empty column space on the Mac now creates a new card at the bottom of that column and opens it, closing any open task first so only one thing is active at a time. Close it without typing and it goes away again
• Clicking the open card again closes its pane; selecting several cards closes it too
• When the task pane opens and would cover the selected card, the board scrolls that column into view. The + button does the same for its new task
• ⌘⌫ deletes a just-created task whose title or note is still empty, instead of doing nothing; in a smart list the new row is selected like a clicked one
• Task details: Add Cover Image offers Photo Library, Choose File, and Use Clipboard right from the details sheet. It used to open nothing on iPad and only the photo library on the Mac
• Task details: a Set Time toggle for Start Date and Due Date. A new due date starts as just the day, matching the context menu; turn on Set Time for a clock

#Today, Upcoming, and Inbox

• Manual reordering works again on iPhone and iPad: with Sort By set to Manual, press and hold a task and drag it to a new spot, and it stays there. Before, the task sprang back to its old place the moment you let go, even though the new order was saved and showed up after a relaunch (tester video). The same fix applies inside the Past Due and Today sections and to a reorder synced from another device

#Smart Lists

• Tasks with a start date now show up in your own smart lists the same way they do in Today: a list with a Today, Tomorrow, This Week, Next Week, or date-range filter includes a task on every day from its start date through its due date (tester report: a task that had started was in Today but missing from "Today + Priority"). Overdue still goes by the due date alone. Widgets follow the same rule

#iPhone and iPad

• Tapping the empty space under a list or board column no longer starts a new task; that stays a Mac feature. On iPad, tapping empty space now closes the open task instead, the same as tapping between board columns
• The task pane's close button on iPad now points right, the direction the pane slides away (down stays for the iPhone sheet)
• Closing the task pane with a swipe on iPad is more forgiving: a slightly diagonal swipe or a quick flick now counts, and a two-finger swipe on the screen works as well as on the trackpad

#Cover Images

• Cover image size per project: Project Info now offers Left Strip (as before), Square, or Widescreen (16:9). Square and Widescreen sit across the top of the card with the task details below. Every card on that board follows the choice, on all your devices. The chooser shows a small preview card for each layout
• Use Clipboard: when a picture is on the clipboard, the cover image chooser offers it directly, alongside Photo Library and Choose File

#Notes

• Images in Notes (Settings ▸ Appearance): keep the compact cards, or choose Larger Previews to see the pictures themselves in the note. With previews on, right-click (Mac) or press and hold (iPhone, iPad) a picture to make it Small (a third of the note's width) or Large (the full width of the text). The choice is saved with the note, so every device shows it the same way
• Code blocks now sit on a rounded slab with breathing room around the text and clear space above and below the block; inline code and highlights get a snug rounded box around the words instead of a full-height strip (tester request)
• Text typed right after turning a line into a code block stays in the block

#Today and Calendar

• Tasks with a start date now join Today on the day they start and stay there every day through the due date, so Today works as a daily to-do list. They only turn overdue once the due date passes. Upcoming shows what hasn't started or come due yet
• The calendar shows a task on its start date (marked "Starts") as well as on its due date; drag the Starts chip to move the start date
• Tasks with a due time show the time on their calendar tile, in red once it has passed

#Recovery

• Restore from Local Backup: if Kan Do ever can't open its database, the recovery screen now offers this device's own verified backups (the daily snapshots plus the copies kept before Sync Repair or an iCloud re-download). Pick one, confirm, and Kan Do puts it back and opens; a copy of the database it replaced is kept first. Works on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro, and needs neither another device nor iCloud
• Changes made after the backup that already reached iCloud come back as sync catches up

#Smart Lists

• Dated subtasks now appear in your own smart lists whenever the list has a Date or Time filter (for example "Today + Priority"), the same way they already do in Today and Upcoming. The subtask is matched on its own due date; tags, priority, flag, and project come from its parent task

#Shortcuts

• Edit Task: change a task's title, subtitle, note, due date and time, priority, flag, link, tags, column, cover image, or completion from a shortcut. Fields you leave blank stay as they are
• Get Selected Tasks: returns whatever is selected in Kan Do right now, so a shortcut can act on the tasks you just picked
• Task links: every Task variable now has a Link property (kando://task/…), and a Get Task Link action returns it on its own
• Tag Names: Add Task and Edit Task accept tags as text, one per item, so tags can come from an earlier action. A name that matches nothing creates the tag
• Project Name: Add Task accepts the project as text, so a project from Find List or any earlier action drops straight in

#Fixes

• Exported project files now include each task's subtasks, and importing a file brings them back
• Dividers can be dragged again on iPhone and iPad: press and hold the line, then drag it between cards, the same way cards move. The old drag fought the scrolling column (and could crash on iPhone)
• iPad and Mac boards: cards now fade out above the Add Task field instead of showing through underneath it when a column is longer than the screen

#Widgets

• Extra Large widget: the Tasks widget comes in a fourth size that fills a whole Home Screen page on iPhone (iOS 27) and the wide extra-large size on iPad and Mac, with room for up to seventeen tasks in one column or eighteen across two
• Lock Screen widgets (iPhone and iPad): the Tasks widget now offers a rectangular size under the clock, showing the list's name, count, and first two tasks, and an inline size next to the date showing the count ("3 tasks"); tapping either opens that list
• Two circular Lock Screen widgets: Calendar opens Kan Do on the Calendar, and New Task opens it ready to add a task to your Inbox

#Fixes

• Settings ▸ App Icon: icons in each row now line up even when a name wraps to two lines

#Task Start

• Task Start: give a task a start date and time alongside its due date (Task Details ▸ Start Date); it shows on cards and rows, and Alert at Start sends a notification when the start arrives — a reminder ahead of the due date

#App Icon

• iPhone and iPad: Settings ▸ Appearance ▸ Theme ▸ App Icon picks the Home Screen icon — the Kan Do columns in the Stash color schemes (Classic, Blue, Midnight, Navy, Indigo, Plum, Slate) or one of seven new designs (Check Gradient, Check Stripes, Check Neon, Board Blue, Board Neon, Board Teal, Board Pink)

#Notes

• Text Color: pick a color for selected text (or for what you type next) from the new palette button in the formatting bar; Default restores the normal color, and colors stay in sync across your devices
• Highlight now offers six colors instead of just yellow; None removes a highlight
• The "more tools" menu keeps bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, and code as checkable toggles that stay open, so bold and underline can be applied to one selection in a single visit
• A to-do item starts with a capital letter, the way a sentence does, as soon as you type after the checkbox
• iOS: Copy comes before Cut in the floating menu over selected text, so a stray tap no longer removes the text
• The keyboard formatting panel gained Text Color and Highlight color menus (the bar above keeps ABC for returning to the keyboard)

#Adding tasks

• Tap or click in the empty space under a column's cards to start a new task there, and under the last row of a list (Inbox, Today, Upcoming, Flagged, custom lists, and a project's list view) to add one, the way Reminders does
• A brand-new task closed with nothing entered goes away again instead of lingering as a blank "New Task", from every entry point (column menu, the + buttons, ⌘N, the sidebar)
• Mac: Escape while naming a brand-new task backs out of creating it; on an existing task, Escape in the title or subtitle closes the pane

#Fixes

• Tasks created or edited through the MCP connector now sync through iCloud right away while Kan Do is running, instead of waiting for the next relaunch

#Drag and drop

• Drag a task card onto a project in the sidebar to move it there (it lands in the same column the + button uses), onto a tag to apply that tag, or onto Inbox to send it back to the Inbox
• Drag an email out of Mail into a note on the Mac and it becomes a card showing the subject; click the card to open the message in Mail, and the link is added to the task's Links as well
• Column reordering now shows a vertical accent line between columns where the column will land, with no green "copy" badge, and a column can be dropped past the last column to move it to the end
• Completed tasks that stay on the board can be dragged to another column

#Typography

• Settings ▸ Typography ▸ Default Text Style chooses the style a new note starts in: Body, Title, Heading, or Subheading
• Pressing Return at the end of a Title, Heading, or Subheading line starts the next line in Body instead of carrying the heading style forward
• Choosing a style on an empty line now applies to what you type next
• New Column Icons slider sets the size of the symbol in each column header

#Notes

• Numbered lists keep their text aligned past item 9 ("10." no longer pushes its text to the right)
• Numbered lists always count from 1, so deleting the first item no longer leaves a list starting at 2
• Backspace right after a bullet or number removes the whole marker instead of leaving a stray "2." glued to the text
• Email and web addresses become links as you type them (and when pasted), so an email address in a note is clickable like a phone number

#Fixes

• With Move to Archive on, a completed card now fades out after its strikethrough draws, and the cards below slide up smoothly into its place (board, project list, and smart lists)
• Escape in the Add Task field discards what was typed and leaves the field
• iOS: paste into the Add Task field (a long press there no longer opens the column menu)
• iOS: shake to undo works for completing, deleting, and duplicating tasks
• Clicking into a task's title or subtitle places the cursor where you clicked instead of selecting the whole text
• Mac: the task detail pane can no longer squeeze the list or board beside it to a sliver in a narrow window
• Long columns scroll more smoothly (the header fade no longer forces the whole card stack through an offscreen pass)

#Sync

• Settings ▸ Sync names each item hidden by a sync conflict and offers Merge Duplicate Copies: a snapshot is saved first, the most complete copy is kept, its boards, columns, tasks, subtasks, attachments, and tags are moved onto it, and the extras are removed so every device converges. It never runs on its own

#Launch

• Settings ▸ Appearance ▸ Open at Launch gains Main Navigation, which opens the sidebar with nothing selected

#Siri and Shortcuts

• The Kan Do icon shown next to tasks, projects, and columns in Siri and Shortcuts follows the system's light or dark appearance

#Siri

• Siri on iOS 27 and macOS 27 can now create, update, complete, and delete Kan Do tasks by voice, and answer questions about them: "Add a task to Kan Do called call the plumber tomorrow", "Mark it as completed", "What's due today in Kan Do?"
• Projects are Siri's lists and columns are its sections, so "add a task to my Website project" and "put it in the Doing column" work
• Tasks, projects, and columns are indexed for Siri and Spotlight with their titles, notes, and tags; tapping a result opens the task or project in Kan Do
• Siri actions stay out of the Shortcuts app, which keeps the richer Add Task and Complete Task actions

#Shortcuts

• The Add Task action gains a Photos field: pass pictures from Select Photos or Take Photo and each becomes an image attachment on the task

#Widgets

• The widget's List setting now offers the Inbox, every smart list you've made, and every project, alongside Today, Upcoming, and Flagged
• A smart list in the widget uses the same rules as the sidebar, including nested tags and Include / Exclude filters, and picks up name, icon, and color changes right away
• A project in the widget lists its open tasks (completion columns and archived columns stay out) and its + adds to the project's first column
• New "New Tasks Go To" setting: choose the Inbox or any project column, and the + button (medium and large widgets) opens the app ready to type in that column
• Tapping a widget opens the list it shows — a smart list or a project board included
• Widgets placed before this update keep their Today / Upcoming / Flagged choice

#Notes on iPhone and iPad

• A bar now sits above the keyboard: Undo, Redo, a formatting button, Hide Keyboard, and Link
• The formatting button (Aa) swaps the keyboard for a panel of keys: Outdent and Indent, bulleted and numbered lists, To-Do, Block Quote, the Style menu (Title, Heading, Subheading, Body), Bold, Italic, Underline, Strikethrough, Highlight, Code, Code Block, Link, Separator, Image, Attach File, Drawing (iPad) or Print, plus Delete, Space, Return, and Hide Keyboard; ABC or the keyboard key brings the keyboard back
• Panel keys behave exactly like the top bar and the keyboard: Return continues a list, Delete clears a to-do box, Bold and friends light up when the cursor is in that style
• The text cursor is now the height of the text beside it; it used to stretch to the full line spacing

#Task Completion per project

• Project Info gains a Task Completion setting: App Setting, Keep on Board, or Move to Archive, so a kanban-style board can keep finished cards while your list-style projects sweep them to the Archive
• Settings ▸ Task Completion now says that a project's own choice overrides it; switching a project to Move to Archive archives its already-completed tasks, like the app-wide setting does
• The choice is a device preference, like Sort By; widget check-offs honor it too

#Apple Watch

• The Add Task shortcut action and "Add a task to Kan Do" with Siri now run on Apple Watch. Shortcuts only runs an action on the wrist when the Watch app itself provides it; the Watch app now does (title, subtitle, project, column, due date and time, Alert Until Done, priority, flag, link, note). Tasks land in the watch's store and sync through iCloud

#Fixes

• Giving an Inbox task a date now moves it out of the Inbox: it shows in Today or Upcoming only, and the Inbox count no longer includes it
• Today can be sorted by hand again when it shows Past Due and Today sections (or Group by Time sections): each section reorders on its own and the order sticks

#Editing spaces, projects, columns, tags, and smart lists

• The editor's title is edited right at the top, next to the icon; the separate name box is gone

#Import

• Settings ▸ Import can now send Reminders to the Inbox, alongside an existing project or a new one

#Share sheet

• "Couldn't Save" no longer shows the storage engine's wording. If the app was just updated and hasn't been opened yet, the sheet says so and asks you to open Kan Do once; if the database was briefly busy, it asks you to try again in a moment
• The share sheet retries a busy database for up to a second before reporting anything

#Under the hood

• New links: kando://new?column=, kando://list/custom/, kando://project/
• Your smart lists are mirrored into the app group so the widget can read them; the synced database is unchanged

#Smart Lists

• Make your own smart lists, like Reminders: choose + ▸ New Smart List in the sidebar, give it a name, icon, and color, then pick filters for Tags, Date, Time, Location, Flag, Priority, Spaces, and Projects, and whether a task must match all of them or any one
• Smart lists appear in their own collapsible section above Tags, with counts, drag to reorder, and Edit / Delete in the long-press menu; each list remembers its own sort and manual order like the built-in lists
• Tags, Spaces, and Projects filters can Include or Exclude what you pick, so a shopping or movie project never shows up in a smart list
• Settings ▸ Sidebar Smart Lists can hide the Smart Lists section and the Tags section, and a new Sidebar Order group puts Spaces, Smart Lists, and Tags in whatever order you like
• Settings ▸ Typography gains Smart List Size, Smart List Line Height, Tag Size, and Tag Line Height sliders; the size sliders scale that section's text and icons together, like the Space and Project sizes
• Typography sliders are now all the same width on every platform, without tick marks; on iPhone the title sits above a full-width track
• New Column Width slider (220–480 pt) for the kanban board on Mac, iPad, and Vision Pro; zoom still applies on top, and iPhone keeps its stock layout
• Your smart lists follow you to your other devices through iCloud (key-value storage), separate from the task database

#Task history

• Task Details gains a History section: Created, and when they apply, Completed, Archived, and Restored dates; the archive and restore dates are recorded from now on, whether a task is archived by hand, by completing it under Move to Archive, or brought back from the archive
• Restoring a task from the archive always marks it incomplete again
• Task Details now shows Tags above Board Location
• Storage version 6: two new optional dates on tasks; older builds keep syncing and never read them

#Checking off

• Checking a task off now blooms a sparkle burst around the bubble, and the row stays a beat to show its strikethrough even when Task Completion is set to Move to Archive
• To-do checkboxes in notes are larger, thicker, and rounded, and fill with your accent color when checked; notes are stored exactly as before

#Boards

• Drag a column by its title (click-drag on Mac, long press on iPhone and iPad) onto another column to reorder
• Typing in a column's Add task field and then tapping the blue + finishes that task in that column and opens it, instead of opening a blank task in the default column
• A duplicated task scrolls into view if it lands below the fold
• A long column no longer jumps back up after you add a task; it also no longer springs back after a card's long-press menu (both came from the same remembered-scroll-position bug)
• Focusing the Add task field under a long column scrolls the last card up first, so the new task has room to land
• Deleting a repeating task now asks whether to delete only this occurrence (the next one is still created on schedule) or all future occurrences
• Mac: the first click on a task's title or subtitle places the cursor; it used to take two clicks
• Notes: pasting a link then pressing ⌘Z undoes it cleanly, and the divider button works right after a large paste; both now go through the editor's own undo bookkeeping
• Notes on iPhone rubber-band even when short, so a pull shows there's nothing more

#Alert Until Done

• Remind Every is now set per task: each task's slide-out has its own cadence (Every 30 Minutes, Every Hour, Every 3 Hours, Every Day) and a Default choice that follows the app-wide setting; before, changing it in one task changed every task
• Settings ▸ General gains "Alert Until Done Reminds", the default cadence for tasks that don't set their own
• The Add Task shortcut action has a matching Remind Every field
• Storage version 5: one new optional field on tasks; devices still on 1.3.x keep syncing and keep using their app-wide cadence

#Share sheet

• Save to Kan Do works again: since 1.3.8 the share sheet always said "Open Kan Do once, then try sharing again" because it checked your database against the previous version's layout

#Notes

• Paste a picture into a note and it becomes an attachment card: screenshots from Zoom's or macOS's capture tool, Copy Image in Safari or Preview, or an image file copied in Finder; on iPhone and iPad the Paste menu now appears for a copied picture too

#Connector

• When an older copy of the kando connector meets a newer database, the error now says to use the connector inside the current Kan Do app (Settings ▸ Connector) instead of asking you to rebuild it

#Sync

• "Items hidden by a sync conflict" now clears on its own: when two devices complete the same repeating task while offline, each creates the identical next occurrence, and every device used to hide both copies forever; the app now keeps the same copy everywhere and removes the spare after the next sync
• If the app cannot open your data at launch, the retry screen now shows the technical reason and logs each failed attempt

#Widgets

• Widgets now refresh as soon as a change syncs in from another device, instead of waiting behind the app's search-index and reminder passes
• Closing Kan Do pushes any pending widget refresh out immediately, while the app is still allowed to refresh widgets without limit; refreshes that fire after the app is in the background can be held back by iOS for a long time
• Refreshes coalesce after one second instead of two

#Shortcuts: Add Task

• New Due Date & Time field for variables that already carry a time, such as a calendar event's start date; the date-only Due Date picker drops the time from such variables, so use this field for imported events
• New Alert Until Done toggle
• The Column list shows every column labeled with its project and space, in sidebar order, so you can pick a column without choosing a Space or Project first; choosing a Space narrows the list to its projects, choosing a Project narrows it to that project
• Searching the Column list also matches project and space names

#Move to

• Move to in a task's long-press menu and in the Select bar opens a full-screen picker at larger accessibility text sizes, with Inbox, every space and project, and a search field; the old submenu could show only two or three rows there and gave no hint that the rest scrolled, so spaces looked missing
• At regular text sizes the submenu works as before, with a new Choose Destination… item at the top that opens the same picker when you have many spaces
• Picking a project then a column moves the task and closes the picker; Cancel leaves everything as it was

#Nested tags

• Right-click or long-press a tag in the sidebar and choose New Nested Tag to add a tag inside it, or Nest Under to move an existing tag inside another one (Top Level moves it back out)
• The tag editor has a new Nested Under menu, so you can pick a parent while naming a tag and choosing its icon and color
• Parent tags show a chevron in the sidebar; tap it to fold or unfold their nested tags, and Kan Do remembers what you folded on each device
• Selecting a parent tag shows tasks carrying it or any tag nested under it, and the sidebar count does the same
• Filter by Tag on boards, lists, and the calendar treats a parent tag the same way, and nested tags read indented in those menus
• Add Tag in a task's context menu opens nested tags as submenus; the parent itself stays on the first line so it can still be added
• Dragging a tag in the sidebar reorders it among its siblings and carries its nested tags with it
• Deleting a tag also deletes the tags nested under it (the confirmation says so)
• Claude and the connector see nested tags as Parent/Child paths in list_tags, and can create a whole path such as Work/Clients/Acme in one go
• Shortcuts show a nested tag's full path so two tags with the same name are easy to tell apart

#Projects and spaces

• Projects and spaces have a Notes field in their editor, under the name; it stays in the editor and is empty until you write something
• Duplicate Project and Export no longer fail with "This project changed while Kan Do was preparing the export" on stores that hold a stray row somewhere else (a leftover divider or column from an old sync); only the board being copied is checked now

#Today

• Group by Time in the Today list's menu splits it into Overdue, Morning, Afternoon, Tonight, and Any Time (tasks due today with no time), like Reminders; off by default and remembered per device

#Notes

• The pencil for editing a link now sits right after the link's last character, on the correct line even when the link wraps, with a bigger tap target; it opens an Edit Link card with Title and Address, Remove Link, Cancel, and Done, like Bear

#New Task

• A task started from the Action Button, a widget's +, the home-screen quick action, or the New Task shortcut is discarded again if you close it without typing anything, instead of leaving an empty "New Task" behind

#Reminders

• The task slide-out's due chip now shows the time as well as the date whenever the task has one
• Alert Until Done can repeat every 30 minutes or every day, in addition to hourly and every 3 hours
• Snoozing, completing, or rescheduling a task on one device now quiets it on your other iPhones and iPads within seconds: as soon as the change syncs, each device reschedules its own alerts in the background instead of waiting until you open the app there

#Under the hood

#Multi-select context menu

• With several tasks selected, right-click or long-press one of them for Flag/Unflag, Priority, Due Date (Today, Tomorrow, Next Week, Pick Date & Time…, Remove), Move to, Add Tag with New Tag…, Export Attachments, and Delete, all applied to every selected task

#Tags from the context menu

• Right-click or long-press a task and choose Add Tag to see every tag you have; tap one to add it, or tap a checked one to remove it

• Inline code and code blocks no longer turn into unreadable black boxes when a note written on another device is opened; the code background is now the same soft gray everywhere, and existing notes are corrected as they load

#Dividers

• Adding a divider to a column sorted by due date, priority, or title now switches that column back to Manual order so the divider appears (it used to be added invisibly)

#Mac

• The Mac app no longer requests location access. Location search, attaching a place to a task, and the map still work; only the "places near you" bias in the search suggestions is now iPhone, iPad, and Vision Pro only

#Due dates

• Pick Date & Time… from a task's context menu now opens at full height on iPhone, so the calendar, Set Time, and the Cancel/Set buttons are all visible
• New Settings ▸ General ▸ Badge Icon with Overdue Tasks shows how many open tasks are past due on the app icon (iPhone, iPad, Vision Pro, and the Mac Dock); off by default

#Projects

#Subtasks

• Every task can now have a checklist of subtasks — add them from the task's details, or straight from the "Subtasks" and "Add Subtask" buttons at the top of a task note
• Each subtask can carry its own due date and fires its own reminder; "Mark Done" on the reminder checks off just that subtask
• Subtasks with due dates show up in Today and Upcoming under their parent task's name, and on the Calendar
• Cards and rows show a small pie that fills in as subtasks get done
• A repeating task carries its checklist onto the next occurrence, unchecked and with any subtask due dates shifted along with it
• Don't want subtasks? Switch them off in Settings ▸ General and they disappear everywhere

#Locations

• Give a task a place: type a business name or an address in the task's details and pick from the suggestions (allow location access to see places near you)
• A map-pin badge on cards, rows, and at the top of the task shows which tasks have a location
• On iPhone, turn on "Notify When Arriving" or "Notify When Leaving" under the due date and Kan Do reminds you when you get there or head out (this needs "Always" location access; Kan Do never stores or shares your location)

#Calendar

• A new Calendar smart list beside Inbox, Today, Upcoming, and Flagged shows every task and subtask with a due date on a month grid or a week view
• Step back and forward by week or month, jump to Today, and switch between Week and Month (Kan Do remembers your choice)
• Show everything, or just one tag or one project
• Tap an item to open its task; right-click or long-press for tags, due date, and the usual task actions
• Drag an item onto another day to reschedule it

#Sort and filter

• Sort any column, list-view heading, or the Today / Upcoming / Flagged / Inbox lists by Due Date, Creation Date, Priority, or Title — earliest or latest first — from the column's "…" menu or the list's new toolbar button
• Manual stays the default so you can keep dragging cards where you want them; choosing a sort turns off dragging within that column, while dragging a card into it from another column still works
• Filter any column or list to a single tag
• Sort and filter choices are remembered per column and per list on each device

#Fixes & improvements

• Fixed: adding an image or PDF to a task note could trigger a repeating "Note Changed Elsewhere" message that made the note impossible to keep typing in. The underlying cause could also quietly undo your most recent note edits — both are fixed
• Fixed: on Mac, moving the cursor around bulleted lists could show duplicate "ghost" lines, make lines vanish, or scramble bullet spacing
• New projects, spaces, and tags now open with an empty name field ready to type in — no more deleting "New Project" letter by letter
• The app now reopens to the screen you were last on, instead of always opening the first project (Settings ▸ General ▸ Open at Launch, now "Last Viewed" — you can still pick a specific list or project)
• If an iCloud sync conflict is hiding any of your items, Kan Do now tells you right in the sidebar — with a one-tap path to the fix — instead of the items silently not appearing

• Attachments now save instantly, everywhere — no more added files quietly going missing from a task
• Adding an attachment or link updates the task immediately: the icons under the task title, the Task Details lists, and the note itself all refresh the moment you add one
• The document icon on a task is now clickable — see every attachment at a glance and open one right from the list, just like the link icon
• The link and attachment popovers now show up to seven items before scrolling instead of a cramped couple of rows

#Boards

• Dragging a divider to a new spot now sticks — it no longer snaps back to where it was

• If your device's local database ever has conflicting copies of an item, Kan Do protects your data by hiding it — and now tells you: Settings ▸ Sync shows exactly how many items are affected and points to the one-tap fix (Re-download from iCloud)
